MY DRESSER REDO

I recently redecorated my 19 year old daughters bedroom and gave it a more grown up look. It use to be 2 shades of bright neon pink, a light and a dark. It was blinding when you entered the room. Now, it is a calming cool ocean blue. It is decorated with old pictures of Marlyn Monroe and Kathryn Hepburn, two of her favorites. She has an old soul, we say, lol. Along with the ocean blue, we have red (deep maroon) black, with tiger stripes and white. She is a lover of clocks, all clocks. So, I got this brilliant idea to redo her white dresser and I think it is turning out good so far. I first covered the dresser with a more expensive scrapbook paper that cost me $.99 cents each. It was super thick and I knew it would outlast anything. I coated the paper with hod podge on bottom and top. I let that all dry. I found some scrap paper that had clocks on it and I cut out the ones I wanted. Once again I hog podged them on to the top. I still have a lot of work to do, as I am still adding more color to the top, as well as doing the drawers the same way. I'm just not covering the entire drawer with the design. I will post the finished dresser when I'm done....

Something old to something new...

I started off today to make something old that I found at Goodwill and make it into something new. I think I succeeded! It really turned out better than I thought it would have. I just measured out my paper to fit and of course put a thick coat of mod podge on top. I painted the rest of the box with Martha Stewart Metallic paint. When all of that was finished, I put a nice thick coat of triple thick on the areas where I put the paper to make it look extra shiny. I really like the outcome!
As this crafting and blogging is new to me, I set out today to find vintage soup lables that I could print out for free. I did not have any success with this. Does anyone know where I can go to print out vintage lables of any kind? I did find two, but this just happened to be on someones blog page. If anyone could help it would be great...

I found something new and FREE for EVERYONE today!!!

As I was searching for vintage lables today, I came across a website that offered FREE templetes for organizing.  So I attached the link to share with everyone. They are cute on top of that!!!

Tutorial: How to make an origami box with wallpaper

A few more creations from the dollar store.

Just a few more that I created from the good ole dollar store!!!

CUPCAKE/CANDY TRAY

I created this using glasswear I found at my dollar store. I played around with it until I came up with something I like. I then epoxy'ed it all together. I was thinking for a special touch adding doilies and pearl or colored beads around the edges. I will experiment some more and post another one later...

Starting my Blog....

Hi I'm Mary Ann...I am wife, a mother of four, a grandmother of one soon to be two. I am into crafting and extreme couponing. Between the two, I stay pretty busy. I wanted to create my blog to share with you, turning inexpensive finds from places such as Goodwill and other's into works of art. As well as, saving you money on your week to week grocery budget using and stacking coupons. I hope that my blog will be an inspiration to other to be able to save and create as much as possible in their spare time!
